The Interior Design Trends Taking Over Fall 2025, According to Designers
The common thread? A home that feel genuinely lived-in and loved.
As leaves turn and temperatures drop, interior designers are are noticing that clients are looking for spaces with soul. After consulting with the pros, four distinct trends emerged for fall 2025—all centered around creating spaces that feel personal, layered, and warm.
Earthy Color Palettes
The great beige exodus is officially underway. This fall, designers are ditching cool grays for colors that feel grounded and alive. "Sun baked terracotta, forest green, and deep brown are edging out the cool grays that hung on for years, balanced with creamy stone and warm white that let the palette breathe," says Lauren Saab, founder of Saab Studios.
Some designers are taking cues directly from the fashion world. Marc Contardi of Mark Vincent Design says he was particularly inspired by the colors in Milan Fashion Week's Fall/Winter ‘25 shows. "Plum—Max Mara, Brunello Cucinelli, and Etro weaved this all throughout their collections—is a more classic fall color which works at scale," he notes. He's also embracing pastel yellow (which Fendi and Gucci used as an accent color) as "an unexpected but gorgeous fall accent that can counteract some of the seasonal gloominess."
For those hesitant to commit to bold wall colors, Saab offers a more approachable entry point: "Trade a neutral anchor for something bold in tone. A moss green velvet armchair or a russet sofa can flip the mood of a room instantly, giving it new energy without a full redesign. No other change makes a space feel so polished so quickly."
