My name is Miguel Suarez del Villar, and I’m the founder of Alameda Vintage Decor. This journey began in February 2014, in my hometown of Cuba, where I first opened Alameda Antiques on Alameda Street (That's where the name came from). Originally, the shop focused on antiques and used books.
After moving to Florida, the business evolved into what is now Alameda Vintage Decor, with a focus on vintage home décor, particularly wall art such as original paintings, posters, prints, art cards, and, recently incorporated, contemporary art for those who want a higher profile of original pieces in their places. We’ve also introduced handmade crochet apparel, a cherished part of my family’s tradition. As crochet returns to modern fashion, it complements our retro and vintage aesthetic beautifully.
My experience in hunting for "hidden treasures," combined with a background in art and a passion for vintage travel posters, made for the perfect blend to start this new chapter in Downtown St. Pete—especially now, as so many are embracing the charm of vintage style.
